How Collar Companion® Works
Collar Companion® is a small, wearable diffuser that attaches securely around your dog’s existing collar, harness or leash. Simply choose a Lab Mom® oil blend, place one drop onto the diffuser centre, and your dog is ready to go. No oils applied directly to your dog’s skin. No complicated routine. Click on. Add a drop. We do offer a Cat Companion as well, which is essentially the Collar Companion without the strap – so it is to be placed around the home for your cat to receive the benefits of different oil blends.

Introducing Collar Companion to Your Dog
First impressions matter. 
When introducing a new aroma to your dog, choose a time when they’re happy and relaxed. For example, if you’re hoping to use a particular aroma during stressful situations, don’t wait until the stressful event is already happening to introduce it. Instead, introduce the scent beforehand during something your dog enjoys—relaxing together, cuddling, playing or simply spending time in their favourite place. This helps make the new aroma part of a familiar, positive experience.
Follow your dog’s lead.
Every dog is an individual. When introducing any new scent, start slowly and observe your dog. Give them space to move away from the aroma if they choose, use Collar Companion in a well-ventilated environment, and discontinue use if your dog appears uncomfortable or sensitive to the scent. Your current guidance also recommends consulting a veterinarian for pets with underlying health conditions or sensitivities.
Look for a comfortable, relaxed dog. You know your dog best. When trying a new aroma, watch their overall body language and behaviour.
Comfortable? Carry on. Unsure? Give them some space. Trying to get away? Remove the scent.

Can I switch between blends?
Yes, you may use different blends at the same time – however it is recommended to use a designated Collar Companion for each Oil Blend, and not combine the oils into one diffuser. (ie. have one dedicated to DeBugged, and one dedicated to Let’s Chill)

Collar Companions can also be clipped to anything you like! Our customers have tried many different things to get the benefit of essential oils themselves:

Can it get wet?
Yes! Collar Companion can get wet. 
Because essential oils are hydrophobic (they naturally repel water), getting the Collar Companion wet doesn’t simply wash the oils away. The oils tend to retreat back into the diffuser material when wet and become aromatic again as it dries. However, after swimming, bathing, or getting thoroughly soaked, we recommend allowing the Collar Companion to dry and then reapplying one drop of your chosen oil blend to refresh the aroma. So go ahead—rainy walks, puddles and Labrador-approved swims are all part of the adventure!
